In advance of any other costume, I sought to choose my saree for the reception night and the wedding morning. I browsed through Pinterest, Instagram. Picked out the trending wedding sarees. I had a taste for pure red color saree. I arranged beforehand to shop in Chennai, I had a few shops on my list. Day one shopping was dedicated only to the reception and the wedding saree. In the meanwhile of shopping, at random golden color saree hit my eyes. I loved it. It was simple, not as grand for the reception. I could envision that golden color might look good on me. Finally, I purchased it to wear on the reception night.

I was lucky enough to get my reception saree in the first shop. Later it took us hours to find the wedding saree. I and mom had contrast decisions on wedding saree. We saw various shops. Finally, we came in peace with a beautiful red saree which I envied. I was not much impressed with the design but my mom liked it though. I loved it for the color. We were looking for something quite traditional for the mugurtham morning. Finally, red saree satisfied all the expectations, good design, wanted color and traditional one.

How to design the right blouse

I saw various people wearing contrast blouses. Yeah, that was trending. But that was overwhelming for me. Everywhere golden saree was worn with red, green and maroon color blouses. Red sarees wear worn with green, blue and different other colour blouses In contradiction, I wanted to wear the same color blouse of the saree but wanted to make it somewhere unique in the design. For the golden saree, it had a very thin line of brown thread running. So decided to enhance the brown color in my blouse. I wanted a sprinkle of grand design for the golden saree as the saree was simple. Red saree, I choose golden works where the saree had golden jarigai and threads. I incorporated little green color thread to the blouse to make it stand out. I must really thank the designer who completely guided me to choose the patterns, she gave me space to blend my ideas with hers. she was patient enough until I was trying to explain what exactly I had in my mind. knowledge enough to understand how I expected the work to be. And the outcome was pretty awesome.

Before reaching the makeup artist, I surfed through miscellaneous pictures, I saw different hairstyles, the jewelry, flowers, lipstick shades, and everything. I went by simple hairstyle which suits me. Was not much interested in complicated hairstyles afraid it might not look good on me. The morning I completely opted for a traditional look. Ordinarily, I wear a head bump at my normal days, For the reception look, I just added fishtail with the messy head bump and simple white flowers at the back. Morning again it was side bumps with straight partition, plated at behind which had golden ornaments attached to it to add the traditional look. Jewelry, previously I had in my mind to wear one with the white stones and the other was gold just to have two different looks. Reception jewelry I went with white and red stone so that stones might look good at that lighting. The morning I went with my gold jewelry which will add more to my traditional look. Guys trust me traditional look will never fail you. Everyone from the marriage liked my morning look. The red saree with the gold jewels can never go wrong.

Accessories

As said earlier, the night I opted for Whitestone. I rented from my makeup artist. She had good collections, So I had various options to choose, you can either purchase it outside, more or less the cost is gonna be the same. The morning I wore my gold ornaments, I mostly have antiques. Antique compliments your traditional look. The favorite piece of mine was a choker set, which my In-laws gave me at my wedding. That made the look grandeur. The next most important thing is the bangles. I mixed and matched with two colors for each saree. I shopped at so carpet in Chennai where you can find various designs but I don’t think the price is cheap. If you want good design, with mix and match as a dozen, you can find it there. For the golden saree, I purchase the closest golden color of my saree and brown which was in my blouse. For red saree, I went with pure red and golden color bangles, I choose thread bangles because it will look brighter than any other metallic or glass. But be careful in water, the thread might rip out. There comes your nails, paint a neutral color. Since red is the party color and might look bright in whatever dress you are. So I choose a red shade from the color bar, it was the gel finish. The look was classy. Last but not least, you can wear an anklet which will make you look more feminine. I went with a gold-dipped thin anklet.

Every tiny details matter, That is what gives you the best look at the end.

xoxo,
Mita
