The pandemic has reshaped all our lives upside down. The life of busy bees who were waking up early with half eyes opened, rushing in and out the house half sipping and half spilling the coffee, breaking heads to wear the perfect dress, getting the half-cooked food, and reaching the office on time, has now turned into waking up just a few minutes before login, attending calls in their pajama, with their hair tied in a half bun and sipping the early morning coffee with utmost pleasure, enjoying their time with the loved ones, cooking whatever they feel like and working at their own space in their comfortable clothes.
The homemakers who were running with wheels in their legs, who were waking up early before the sun rose, prepared breakfast and lunch for their spouse and kids and once they pack their family to school and office, they just stop to relax and find some time for them, has now turned to wake along with their kids, cook for them, take care of them, help them with their online classes, again cook for them, taking them to the loo, finding no time to sit all day.
Though the buzzing life of running to office early has come to still as we enjoy every activity of us in serenity, the work from home has made situations tougher by working long hours and balancing the right time to work and cook. Though the homemakers who can afford to spend time with their spouse and kids, lost their time and space for themselves.
This pandemic has brought both its costs and benefits into our lives in a year. It was not easy for me to be at home for a year, without meeting people, without visiting places, just getting lost in the new normal its not at all easy. I felt frustrated, was annoyed. Doing the same routine thing everyday with both my work from home and managing house was not easy. I took a break from my entire routine rediscovered things, I did things for myself and I would like to share few of them with you.
Break Your Regular Routine
Doing the same thing, at the same time, every single day may make your life boring and dull. Ease off from your day to day activities. Get out of this monotonous lifestyle which is making you tired and anxious.
Take a break from cooking. Order food, try different cuisine which you have never tired, sit with your family, share things, laugh out loud. Get to your cousin’s or friend’s house, stay there, chat with them, share work with them, you might like their way of lifestyle, which might influence you to incorporate the healthy lifestyle or might make you realize you do far better than their cooking or housekeeping 🙂 for which you can be grateful.
Plan Your Day
Practice journaling everyday, I have already stressed enough on journaling. Check here for my blog post on Journaling. Plan a day ahead, which gives you enough time to plan and execute things. Waking up in the morning with wage mind without any idea, doing things on the spot might make your mind tired and will make you anxious.
When you plan things ahead, when the time approaches as planned for your favorite activity, your mind, body and soul will be coordinated and you can feel the calmness in your mind. Planning your day keeps your place and mind organized.

Have an Activity to Entertain You
Getting engrossed in an activity brings out the creative side of yours. You will never know until you discover it. Blogging is one of the thing which brought the creative side of mine. Until then I never knew I had interest towards writing. I improved my vocabulary, I learnt editing pictures, I explored lots of applications. Blogging was for me. You guys can explore activities on which you had your eyes for long time. It might be gardening, taming a pet, etc. Visit you nearby nursery, purchase plants, decorate your space at home where you are going to set your plants, purchase accessories to décor your place, be all creative.

Start a New Habit/Hobby
Doing something for yourself, whatever you like, whichever you wanted to do for so long, something challenging can make you and your brain active and refreshed. The satisfaction of accomplishing something with utmost interest and concentration feels complete, keeps your mind at peace. It might be learning a new language, reading a book, baking, painting etc. Pour your energy into it, love it from your heart.

Take a day for yourself
As I said earlier, take a day for yourself. Take off from your office work, set aside all the pressure surrounding your work. If you are the one cooking, shut the kitchen for the day. Order your favorite food, hand the responsibility of babysitting your kid to your spouse. Switch on Netflix/ Amazon, dim the lights, close your curtains, watch your favorite movie or series with popcorn in your hand. Else get out of your house, if you love driving, take your bike or car, enjoy driving, play some music just go with the feel. Visit your friend’s or family’s place, sit with them, listen to their stories, talk, yell, gossip about your all old good days. If could’t travel, call your friends, have a leisure talk, laugh like a kid, pull each others leg, talk and laugh until tears shed out of your eyes.
Having said that, it’s heartbreaking to see the current situation for the past couple of months has worsened. Please stay home, enjoy activities at home, keep your mind at peace and stay safe.
xoxo,
Mita
